As the United Kingdom’s involvement in Europe strengthens, the need for you to
speak a second language has never been greater. Most employers, particularly the
growing number of those who trade with Europe, place great importance on
employees not only being able to speak a foreign language, but also showing the
advanced communication skills necessary to gain a GCSE in a language. It is well
recognised that mastering other languages brings a wealth of opportunities, not
only in the world of business, but in travel and connecting with other cultures
throughout the world.
With the new Government’s introduction of the English Baccalaureate
accreditation, the importance for language learning has been put back on the
map. Students who gain a GCSE grade A* - C in a language will be looked
favourably upon by Colleges and Universities when applying for further education.
