Religious Studies GCSE
GCSE Religious Studies looks at both belief and society and how both of these
are of upmost importance in our day to day lives. The GCSE really starts to
develop your opinion about important ethical, moral and cultural decisions and
asks you to evaluate how and why others may agree or disagree.
We focus on the religious traditions of Christianity and Islam, but also pay close
attention to the significance of your own moral choices in life. You will develop
the key skills of opinion, explanation and evaluation whilst looking at topics such
as: Belief in God, Family Life, Abortion, Euthanasia, War and Peace, Genetic
Engineering and many more.
You may not ever find out the answer to many of the questions we ask, but you
will develop a firm and balanced view of the world around you.
This course is assessed by examination at the end of Year 11
