The children develop mathematical concepts and language through a variety of practical
experiences. Children are encouraged to solve problems and make predictions. We
strongly encourage parents to sing number rhymes and nursery rhymes with their children.
Children learn through first hand experiences and discovery. Play is an important part of
the early years curriculum; it is an essential part of developing language and social skills.
All play activities provided are purposeful, stimulating and greatly enjoyed by the children.
Organising and building opportunities enrich much scientific learning, for example
observing plants, seasons, the school pond etc. There are opportunities for playing with
sand and water and many constructional and technical materials are made available to
each child. The outdoor play area provides opportunities for all areas of the curriculum.
