WELCOME TO BRUNSWICK HOUSE SCHOOL
Brunswick House School has a long history.
It was originally founded in 1860 as a private secondary and boarding school for boys
occupying premises in Buckland Road. In the spring of 1930 it changed and became
the Preparatory Department of the Maidstone Grammar School for Girls. This
arrangement continued until the end of summer 1949.
In September 1949 the school re-opened as a County Primary Mixed Day School
with 48 pupils on roll. The original stone building soon proved inadequate and eleven
extra hutted classrooms were added in the fifties.
In May 2002 we moved into a modern purpose built school located on Leafy Lane.
The new school contains two halls, fourteen classrooms, an office area, computer
suite, library area and kitchens. We also have extensive grounds and a large
Adventure play area.
We are very well equipped with books, computers, audio/visual aids, science and
technology apparatus and musical instruments.
Voluntary efforts by parents, staff and children over the years have enabled us to
purchase additional items of equipment.
