SCHOOL REPORTS AND OPEN DAYS:
The Headteacher and staff are happy to see parents at any time if there are problems or
concerns. Arrangements can be made by writing or telephoning for an appointment or you
may be able to speak to us at the end of the school day.
Two consultation evenings are held during the year, usually in the autumn and spring
terms so that parents can discuss their children’s progress and see examples of work
done.
Detailed school reports are written for all children in the school at the end of the summer
term and you will have the opportunity to talk to your child’s teacher if you wish.
Open day is held one afternoon in July and you are invited to visit the school, view all the
classes and meet your child’s next teachers.
SAFETY:
In recent years many more parents have been collecting their children by car and this can
cause a problem outside the school. Please try to find an alternative place to park or if
possible collect your child on foot. We positively encourage you to walk to school at least
part of the way if at all possible.
Adults who bring pre-school children onto the premises must keep them under control and
within sight at all times. Children are not permitted on the Adventure Playground and they
must not climb on the steps or swing on the safety rails.
We make sure your child is safe during the school day by ensuring that there is close
supervision at all times.
For visits by coach we ensure that each child has an individual seat and we only use
reputable operators with safe coaches.
Fire drills are held termly so that children and staff are familiar with the procedure.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
A great many of these activities go on through the year, and will vary according to the
interests and expertise of the members of staff. Details are sent out via Parentmail.
BREAKFAST CLUB:
We have a thriving breakfast club which is greatly enjoyed by the children. It operates
from 7.45 until the start of school and costs £2.10 per day.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB:
An independent club operates from 3.30 – 6.00p.m. and we also have a portfolio of child
care providers.
