SECURITY ARRANGEMENTS:
If a child arrives at school after registration he/she must be taken to the office to be signed
into our book.
Children who need to leave early for any reason must be signed out and the procedure is
as follows:
Parents should write a letter, or telephone, to inform us of when and why the child
needs to leave school.
Parents must report to the office to sign the child out and they will be given a slip of
paper giving permission to collect the child.
The child must be collected, we are not allowed by law to release children
unaccompanied.
Everyone who comes into the school grounds is asked to report to the school office, sign
in and wear an identification badge. This enables us to know who is in the school. The
children tell staff if they see anyone unfamiliar without a name badge. All of the adults
working in school will politely challenge any unidentified person.
PERSONAL PROPERTY:
The County Council do not accept responsibility for loss or damage to personal property of
pupils. Marking clothing and other property with owner’s name is, therefore, of the
greatest importance and parents are therefore requested to ensure that all property
brought to school is marked with name tapes, or alternatively you can just use a marker
pen. We have a lost property box situated under the stairs at the playground entrance.
PERSONAL INSURANCE:
Parents may wish to take out an insurance policy for their children to cover them for
personal accidents. The KCC policy only provides cover when negligence on the part of
an employee or defect in the premises can be proven.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT:
Regular contact between parents and the school is important. Parents are welcome to
visit the school and are encouraged to do so. All volunteers will need to have a full CRB
check before coming into school to help.
We appreciate the volunteer parents who help hear children read, supervise cookery
groups, accompany swimmers, assist craft groups, work in the library, provide transport for
sports fixtures and accompany classes on educational visits.
During the school year there are many opportunities for you to come along and see what
the children are doing and to meet their teachers. We hope that involvement in the work of
the school will help you to a fuller understanding of what we hope to achieve with your
child.
