Sports and Activities
Sport is highly valued at Marshfields, flourishing within the School’s core
curriculum, as a vocational subject, and as a key component of the rich extra
curricular opportunities available to every student.
Each student participates in
a double physical education
lesson per week, and has the
opportunity to study BTEC
sport in years 10, 11 and in
the sixth form. Through sport
we aim to develop students’
competence and confidence to
take part in a range of physical
activities that become a
central part of their lives, both
in and out of School.
Extra curricular sport is a vital and vibrant component of the School’s curriculum. Teams operate in the full range of sports and activities,
competing in local, regional and national competitions. Enrichment clubs, practices and fixtures operate after school throughout the
year, along with a thriving inter-house sporting competition.
The school offers over fifteen sports and activities throughout the academic year through core physical education, extra-curricular
sport, and vocational sport. The School prides itself in offering a wide variety of activities and an inclusive experience for all students,
preparing them for a lifelong involvement in sport and physical activity.

“
We count ourselves very, very lucky that our son has had a place at Marshfields for 3 years.
He has developed beyond our expectations, beyond his expectations and is starting to want
to develop himself. That has been primarily down to you, not us. So thank you.
