SPEECH & DRAMA
is a particular popular extra-curricular choice
for almost half of the girls in the School. Lessons develop solo
acting, poetry recitation and public speaking skills. These lessons
are timetabled for groups of 8-10 girls in year 7 and generally take
place either before or after school.
From year 10 upwards Speech and Drama lessons are timetabled
in private study lessons, where possible, and the group size reduces
to between 6 and 8 students.
As well as the general confidence that Speech and Drama can
bring to a student’s oratory skills it is also possible to take Trinity
Guildhall examinations, starting with Grade 3 level work and
progressing year by year to Grade 8.Whilst examination entry is
not compulsory it is encouraged.
