Medicines
Only
prescribed
medicines can be given to children. Parents are required to seek agreement
from the member of staff responsible and are requested to complete a form giving us
permission to administer the medicine.
Withdrawal During School Hours
If your child has to be withdrawn from school for medical, dental or any other purpose, please
send a note giving details and the time of meeting.
Children must report to the office as they leave and when they return. We cannot let a child
leave the school premises without written confirmation and we expect parents to collect children
from the office in these circumstances.
Transport
For safety's sake, cars may not drive into school to deliver or pick up the children. Crawley
Ridge becomes very congested at school opening and closing times and parents/carers are
asked to park carefully and considerately when collecting or depositing their children.
Broadmoor Warning System
In the event of any escape from Broadmoor, the siren will sound. Schools are notified by
telephone at once. Until the 'all clear' goes, all children may only be sent home with an adult.
Groups of neighbours should be prepared to help other children home. The children will be
kept in school until an adult arrives to collect them. Names of friends or neighbours allowed to
take children home in an emergency are requested in the emergency form, which is completed
on admission. A telephone pyramid system and ParentMail texting operates for emergencies,
which might necessitate closure of the school.
Clubs
A list of current clubs and activities outside school hours is available from the school office.
They are many and varied. However, whilst this will give the reader an awareness of what is
happening in our school at the present, we cannot guarantee that there will be the same
activities available next year. Our clubs reflect the interests and enthusiasms of our staff and
pupils and may vary from year to year.
These activities take place during the lunch hour, before and after school. Before a child is
allowed to join a club activity, we ask parents to sign a form of permission to ensure that they
are aware of the time a child will be leaving school.
In order to offer a range of activities we buy in expertise to supplement what our staff can offer.
For these activities there may be a small charge levied.
Some of the clubs that have taken place in the last year were as follows; Cross-country ,
Basketball, Judo, Athletics , Sense Theatre, Environmental, Rounders, Drama, French,
Choir, Netball and Code Club
