A Creative Curriculum

Foxton School offers a curriculum that acknowledges the importance of
progression in the basic skills
, alongside finding time for the creative arts
and having fun. As well as specific subject lessons, children undertake
topic work and projects integrating and applying their skills and
understanding.
We include
a wide variety of extra-curricular activities
each
term, including plenty of school trips and enhancement days with
local schools. Years 5 and 6 undertake an annual school journey
in the Summer term, alternating between outdoor activities at
Grafham Water and an expedition to Swanage and Corfe Castle.
Sport is taught by specialists
as well as class teachers throughout
the school and KS2 children play regular matches in football, tag
rugby, netball and cricket as well as participating in summer
athletics and swimming events. All teams are mixed with boys
and girls participating. A variety of extra-curricular sports clubs
enhance children’s skills.
We are particularly proud of the
wide and varied creative arts curriculum
we
offer. This includes art and music taught by specialists and a major musical
drama production in each key stage every year.
