Teamwork
_____________________________
Staffing
Our
close-knit staff team
is made up of a Headteacher, a senior/class
teacher, 2 further full-time and 3 part-time class teachers, one of whom
provides PPA cover and specialises in music, 7 teaching assistants, a
peripatetic PE specialist, a shared MFL teacher and a shared specialist
SENCO, a team of Breakfast Club and midday supervisors, a team of 2
administrators, a full-time caterer and part-time assistant and 2 daily
cleaners. Before- and after-school sports clubs are taught by specialists.
The school is characterised by
high adult to child ratios
in class - Governors value this as a budget
priority. Alongside the teacher, each class has a dedicated teaching assistant, as well as TAs working
with individual children. This maximises our TAs’ expertise and their contributions to children’s
learning.
Staff relationships are strong. We value the open door policy of
the Headteacher and the
mutually supportive relationships
we
enjoy. We are hard-working, adaptable, collaborative. No-one is
above wielding a screwdriver or a mop if need be. But we are also
warm, friendly and committed, our close bonds are based on
strongly-held common values and we work above all else to
promote the best interests of the children in our care.
In recent years, teachers and TAs have formed
subject leadership
teams
,
to share subject responsibilities, attend professional
training, develop the curriculum and plan for school-wide
progression in skills. Teachers also pair up with colleagues for peer
evaluation of teaching, moderation
and professional support.
Governors
We have a dedicated and fully-subscribed team of
Governors
, with a
good mix of experience and fresh thinking. They provide invaluable
support for the vision and values of the school, a breadth of relevant
background and good critical questions. The Finance Team has always
successfully managed the school within its budget.
Cluster Colleagues
Our local cluster of eight primaries and one secondary school has
recently amalgamated with two neighbouring clusters encompassing sixteen schools in all. Links within
the group are maintained formally and informally with a strong
network of support
among cluster
colleagues.
