Inclusion
We are proud that our ethos supports
the opportunity for every child to
succeed and experience a good start to
their education both academically and
socially. Planning enables all children
to participate in all school activities and
is adapted to meet children’s needs,
whether they have a special educational
need or a particular talent.
All lessons are adapted to support
differently abled children with their
learning, and pupils are given extra
support by our highly skilled teaching
assistant team. It is important to us that
all children work in a safe, happy and
educational environment and are given
the opportunity to flourish in everything
they do.
We recognise how each child is an
individual, with the right to feel unique
and safe; to ensure this is always a
priority, we cater for medical needs in
school and where applicable create care
plans for specific childrens’ needs.
“We need to give each other the space
to grow, to be ourselves, to exercise our
diversity. We need to give each other
space so that we may both give and
receive such beautiful things as ideas,
openness, dignity, joy, healing, and
inclusion.”
— Max de Pree
Supporting Change & Settling in
Starting school is exciting and can also
be daunting for a parent and a child.
For many, this is a new experience. At
Bonneygrove we give support through
these changes, whether you are joining
our Early Years Foundation Stage, Key
Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
You will encounter events for parents
such as: talking you through what to
expect, meeting the teacher, parents’
evenings, parent workshops and general
invitations to accompany children on
trips, watch assemblies or offer your
support in school. We strive to make
children independent learners with a
strong moral compass. We believe that
a thirst for knowledge, teamed with
compassion and tolerance are key when
making the transition to secondary
school. We also have excellent links with
local secondary schools to aid in this
transition.
“The journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step.”
