The Wider Curriculum & Enrichment
Children at our school have access
to a broad and balanced curriculum
throughout the school day. We have a
range of wider opportunities ranging
from learning to play a stringed
instrument to visiting the local council
offices to run a school council meeting.
In addition, there are a wide variety
of trips and clubs on offer, such as
basketball, science and gardening.
These change regularly to meet
children’s varying interests and operate
before school, during lunchtime or after
school. As well as the aforementioned
clubs, at Bonneygrove, we manage Kool
Kidz – a before and after school club
that provides childcare for working
families. The acquisition of an additional
language is developed throughout
Key Stage 2 to enrich learning both
culturally and linguistically. The children
not only have the opportunity to speak
another language, but also to explore
new art and perform a play entirely in
their new language.
Children are also exposed to
educational traditions, as opportunities
arise. This allows them to appreciate
art, languages and culture, which
greatly informs their wider knowledge.
Bonneygrove is known for providing a
variety of sporting opportunities both at
a friendly and competitive level. Clubs
available may change yearly dependent
on partnerships and children’s interests.
