Hatch End High School
Student Voice
Students’ opinions really matter. We do not simply talk about mutual respect; it is a value
we live by. We listen to what the students have to say about the school and have a variety
of systems to gather views, including an active School Council and‘Community Slice’group.
The Student Leadership Team led by the Head Boy and Girl meet regularly with the
Headteacher to discuss the strategic direction of the school. We have an outstanding
range of opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills, including a thriving
Student Council which plays an active role in working with the Leadership Team in making
improvements to school life.
Older students are encouraged to take on Prefect and Ambassador roles to support younger
pupils and the school ethos. They regularly represent the school on a local, national and
international level gaining many prestigious awards.
“Participation and action are areas of real
strength. All students participate in aspects
of school life including membership of the
School Council, peer mentoring, whole school
campaigns, fundraising, international links and a
wide range of other activities.”
