Hatch End High School
Excellent Facilities
Hatch End High School is proud to be able to offer our students some
of the very best Performing Arts, Sixth Form, ICT, Canteen, Learning
Resource Centre and Music facilities in the borough, as well as extensive
specialist rooms across the curriculum. Our state-of-the-art Round House
is a fantastic performance studio appropriate for small productions
with specialist stage lighting and sound systems to complement our
Performing Arts and Drama curriculum. In addition, our Great Hall
(pictured right) can accommodate up to 600 people, and is highly sought
after by the local community. We have received extensive funding (£6m)
over recent years which has enabled us to upgrade and modernise many
parts of our school building.
ICT Facilities
We are equipped with a 21st Century ICT infrastructure to transform learning. We pioneer the use of mobile technology
in classrooms by providing tablets to students for using across the curriculum. Students also have access to specialist
multimedia suites for video and music editing and we embrace the use of mobile technologies. Our well-developed Virtual
Learning Environment (Fronter) provides on-line access to lesson resources in class and from home.
Learning Resources Centre
The LRC at HEHS contains a wide range of books, audio visual resources and digital resources that complement the use of
mobile technology in learning. The LRC is a vibrant learning environment promoting literacy, research skills and independent
learning. Many activities take place on a regular basis, such as breakfast and homework clubs, spelling competitions, book
reviews and public speaking and debating competitions.
Music
A Music Suite comprising two large performance rooms and four rehearsal rooms with a wide range of musical instruments.
Canteen
Our new caterers, Chartwells, offer students and staff an extensive choice of menus, catering for all cultural dietary preferences. The meals they provide are freshly prepared and cooked on the premises.
Students are able to purchase food and drink in one of two newly refurbished dining halls or in other serveries across the school using the ‘cashless’ catering system.
