Hatch End High School
Dear Parents/Carers
Deciding on a secondary school for your child can be daunting. The educational agenda has changed
substantially over the last few years with parents being ever bombarded with new statistics and performance
measures. However, in many others ways the choice is what it has always been with parents simply wanting
the best for their child with the most common questions being:
Will my child be challenged at school andmake outstanding academic progress, gaining high quality qualifications
which will give them real choices to apply to the best universities and careers?
Will my child be happy and feel safe at school in order to flourish and grow into a confident young adult making
their way in an uncertain world?
In responding to these questions, I am very proud to say that our students consistently make outstanding
progress and we are regularly in the top 20% of all schools nationally for both GCSE and A Level performance.
However, this academic excellence is paralleled by an equal commitment to develop the personality, talents
and abilities of all our students. As a forward looking community, we know that a truly great school never says
it’s perfect, and seeks constantly for ways to improve by embracing new and stimulating innovative practice.
Ofsted, when they visited in 2013, picked up immediately on the palpable sense of inclusion at Hatch End
when they acknowledged in the very first line of their report – “Students thrive in this school.”
Come and visit us at any time – speak to our wonderful students and staff - and make up your own mind.
We look forward to meeting you!
