“The school really
look at each child and
celebrate and build
on their strengths”
Our aim is to engage and inspire our students, and also
the wider community, with our dedicated STEM
programme, not only to lead to a higher level of
academic achievement within the subjects, but also to
educate them in the diverse career pathways that can
open up. We have a dedicated STEM Centre furnished
with the latest technology which is a unique modern,
work-place style room that catapults students into the
future. It helps them relate to how the science, design
and technology, computer science, engineering and
mathematics that they study can lead to rich and varied
career pathways and choices.
We enhance our curriculum with a full calendar of STEM
activities and enrichment opportunities. We participate
in the CREST awards through our Science Club and we
have developed links with many international schools
and multinational and local businesses. These links allow
our students to be part of an array of events and
challenges including the Atkins Film challenge, the BP
STEM challenge, the BBC microbit challenge and also to
visit both the Big Bang Fair and Teentech.
Most recently we have teamed up with Wilsons of
Epsom to launch a Greenpower IET Formula 24 racing
car project. Students have been invited to apply to be
part of the Blenheim Race Team whereby they will
get the chance to design, build and race a Formula 24
race car at both Dunsfold and Goodwood.
Blenheim is a centre for Science, Technology, Engineering and
Maths (STEM) and has been awarded a Gold STEM award for
being an outstanding STEM provider in Surrey. These subjects
are integral to developing an enquiring mind and we believe
that it is crucial for all young people, regardless of their future
career pathway, to have the STEM knowledge and skills that
they need to be an informed citizen in an increasingly scientific
and technological society.
