DISABILITY EQUALITY CONSULTATION
Clifton with Rawcliffe School
aims to be fully inclusive for people with disabilities in our local
community. For some years we have worked to improve access for pupils with disabilities and we are
now consulting more widely with people with disabilities. This is needed so that we can carry out our
statutory responsibilities under the Disability Equality Duty, by showing how we plan to:
Promote equality of opportunity between people with and without disabilities;
Eliminate discrimination that is unlawful under the Disability Discrimination Act;
Eliminate harassment of people with disabilities that is related to their impairments;
Promote positive attitudes towards people with disabilities;
Encourage participation by people with disabilities in public life and
Take steps to take account of a person with disabilities‟ impairments, even where that involves
treating the person with disabilities more favourably than other people.
