How can I do
well in my Maths exam?
Before the exam…
practise a few of the past paper questions.
have a look at the types of questions which might come up.
if you go shopping, practise adding up prices or working out percentages in the sales!
During the exam…
read each question very carefully.
if you are stuck on one question, don’t spend too long on this. Just move on to the next one
and you can then come back to it at the end if you have time.
you are not allowed to use a calculator or a ruler.
if you see a big gap between the end of the question and the line where you write your
answer, this is not a mistake! This is the space where you will need to write down your working
out. We want to see how you have reached your answer. Even if you get the final answer
wrong because you just make a silly mistake ,you might get some marks if
your early working out is correct. But if you don’t write it down, we
won’t know!
