Our Admissions Policy
City of London School for Girls is a
non-denominational, academically selective, independent day school
for girls aged 7-18
. Most girls are admitted to the school following assessment at ages
7+, 11+ or 16+
. Places
are sometimes available at other entry points. Admission is through an appropriate assessment at the school.
The school has a Christian ethos, but we welcome pupils from a wide range of
different
cultures, faiths and backgrounds
which creates a unique and dynamic learning environment.
We are committed to providing opportunities to all girls
regardless of financial means
,
and we therefore offer numerous
scholarships and bursaries
for entry at 11+ and 16+.
City of London School for Girls aims to provide a
stretching and challenging academic education
to girls at
the top end of the ability range. The school also aims to provide a full and rounded education which helps
to develop pupils morally, spiritually, socially and culturally, as well as intellectually.
We aim to identify and admit girls from
all backgrounds
who have met our academic
standards and who will benefit from an academic education at City of London School for Girls.

Our policy is to apply these criteria to all pupils and potential pupils
regardless of any disability
of which we
are aware, subject to our obligation to make reasonable adjustments. At present, our physical facilities for
the disabled are limited but we will do all that is reasonable to ensure that the School’s culture, policies and
procedures are made accessible to children who have disabilities and to comply with our legal and moral
responsibilities under the Special Educational Needs & Disability Act 2001.
