Joining from OVERSEAS
Several girls join us each year from overseas. International pupils bring an exciting dimension to school life, and
reflect the wide range of nationalities, backgrounds and languages represented at City in all year groups.
SITTING YOUR EXAM OVERSEAS
Year 3 (age 7+) entry:
it is unfortunately not possible for girls to sit any part of the 7+ tests overseas as
observation of group interaction forms a significant part of the assessment process.
Year 7 (age 11+) and Year 12 (age 16+) entry:
it is no problem for girls to sit their written exam at their current
school overseas. You will need to let us know at least one month before the exam date that you would like
to do this, and we then simply liaise with the school to administer the exam. For the interview stage, while,
when possible, we prefer girls to come along to City for this, we are also able to arrange Skype interviews.
VISA APPLICATIONS
Successful applicants who wish to study at City will likely need a visa if they do not hold a British or European
passport. We will be able to help you with your application for this, and City has HTS (Highly Trusted Sponsor)
status so we can sponsor your visa.
ACCOMMODATION
City does not have boarding facilities so, should you require accommodation, you will need to find a
guardianship arrangement, as legally required if you are under 18. City is a member of AEGIS (Association
for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) who supply a list and details of accredited
guardian organisations.
Please see the ‘International Admissions’ section of our website for the full details on all of the above points.
