Course Overview
Acting, directing, writing or producing:
whatever your passion for theatre, you
can learn how to refine your skills on
our Theatre course. Not only will you
get plenty of opportunities to perform,
you will also learn about many of the
associated roles and tasks necessary to
put on a show. This includes looking at the
business side of putting on a play and the
marketing behind productions.
You will perform in at least eight productions during
your time at the School, and you will also get the
opportunity to write your own plays, tour outside of
school and work with community groups.
At the end of your course you will be equipped with
the practical skills to join the professional world of
theatre or further your education in the industry.
Student Experience
There are more than 30 productions per year
presented by the Theatre department, so you will have
many opportunities to get involved in a performance.
As well as this, you might just get the opportunity to
perform at professional venues such as the Trafalgar
Studios and New Wimbledon Studio Theatre.
The department’s month-long season, Common
Ground, showcases a wide genre of plays here at the
School. Strawberry Picking, a new writing season, lets
you create your own theatre and organise your own
performances independently: a creative challenge,
but a rewarding one!
What Qualities do I need?
You should have a passion for theatre and the arts and
have the commitment and the drive to push yourself.
You should also feel comfortable working in a team
and be keen to pursue a career in the world of theatre.
