Chemistry is at the forefront of modern scientific advances and chemical scientists are leading research on the world’s most pressing concerns. Chemists are considered as thinkers, who are able to work with large amounts of information to make the best, measured decisions. Studying chemistry at Sigma Sixth allows the development of practical skillswithin a laboratory setting alongside laying the foundations for a truly unique and well-desired skill set in the world today. CURRICULUM STATEMENT Throughout the two years you will complete 6 modules: • Module 1: Practical Skills in Chemistry • Module 2: Foundations in Chemistry • Module 3: The Periodic Table and Energy • Module 4: Core Organic Chemistry • Module 5: Physical Chemistry and Transition Elements • Module 6: Organic Chemistry and Analysis Assessment consists of three exam papers • Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry • Synthesis and analytical techniques • Unified chemistry There is also a practical endorsement associated to the course. COURSE CONTENT Students need to have achieved a minimum of 6 grades 5-9 incl. English and Maths and a minimum grade 6 in the chosen science. ENTRY CRITERIA
