Lochinver House School Summer 2018 Brochure
The Head Boys’ Charities As part of Lochinver’s commitment to our local and wider community, we raise a considerable amount of money for charities during the course of a year. This initiative is led by the Headboys and their families. Alongside regular half termly donations to North Enfield Foodbank, Year 8 boys suggest with reasons why we should support them a range of charities at the start of the academic year. From these, three charities are chosen through a vote by the whole school. This year we are collecting for Crohn’s and Colitis UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Mouth Cancer Foundation. Money is raised through a variety of events such as Tuck Shop, Mufti Days, Lochinver’s Got Talent, The Easter Bazaar, collections at concerts, the French Breakfast and a Coin Mosaic Challenge to name a few. A ‘Wear it Wild’ Mufti day was also held for the World Wildlife Foundation and poppies sold for the Royal British Legion. It is a busy year for the Headboys’ and their parents. They are very well supported in all the baking for Tuck, stall running at events and completing a sponsored walk by all of Year 8. A very big thank you to everyone who has supported our events. Over the past 5 years, over £100,000 has been raised for a very wide range of well deserving charities. A very significant sum that we can all celebrate and be proud of, giving the clear message to the boys of Lochinver about the important role they can play in supporting others.
