Lochinver House School Prospectus

The Lochinver journey typically starts at the age of 4 with boys joining one of two Reception classes. Each class has no more than 20 boys and is cared for by both a class teacher and a teaching assistant, to ensure that each child receives good attention and support. Learning is full of variety and fun as foundational skills are developed in an atmosphere of active discovery. From the word go, boys receive specialist teaching in PE, ICT and Music. This means they are able to benefit from other parts of the school’s extensive facilities and expertise. Whether eating lunch in our dining hall, growing vegetables in the garden, singing in assembly or enjoying the adventure playground, the boys are encouraged to develop independent skills and interpersonal confidence. In Years 1 and 2 the classes do not exceed 21 and continue to benefit from both a class teacher and a full-time teaching assistant and follow a curriculum designed to engage, challenge and extend. Progress is carefully monitored and draws upon the expertise and collaboration of a highly qualified staff team.
