In the club we try to pick a play that most people
are interested in seeing. Last year we saw a wide
range of plays. These included Ibsen’s ‘A Doll’s
House’, the National’s ‘A Taste of Honey’ and
‘From Morning To Midnight’ (a weird German
realism play) and Punchdrunk’s ‘A Drowned Man’
(a promenade immersive theatre piece in a multi-
story warehouse). The evenings out are very
enjoyable and the day after we meet at break to
share thoughts on the performance. You do not
need to sign-up in advance; if the chosen play
intrigues you, then just ask a rep for a form!

SPLAT provides students with the fantastic
opportunity of gaining a greater insight intoHistory
of Art. SPLAT is centered around presentations
given by students and outside speakers on topics
ranging from a student’s favourite artist to how
art as a subject translates into a career. This
society is an excellent opportunity for students in
Year 11 and above who study or are planning to
study History of Art, but equally for younger girls
who love art!
Art is one of the most powerful mediums of
expression and of gaining a different perspective
of the world. It is important that we learn the
values and power of this medium by gaining
knowledge about a whole spectrum of artists.
